In our practice we utilize the principles of Intuitive Eating in our approach to eating disorder treatment.
Intuitive Eating is based on the premise that our body instinctively knows how to nourish itself - similar to that of a newborn infant - as well as maintaining a healthy weight.
Learning to eat intuitively is a far more effective measure of maintaining health than following any restrictive diet. This entails becoming more mindful of biological hunger and fullness cues.
Your treatment will emphasize having a healthy relationship with food. You’ll learn to identify and differentiate between physical and emotional hunger while simultaneously unraveling and working through the core issues beneath your disordered eating.
